Plenty of bytes and column inches have been taken up over the past year discussing the enormous (and widening) chasm between Red and Blue in America – enough that one wonders whether we’d have another civil war on our hands if the division were more geographical than it is.

Last Saturday, Door to Door was proud to support “Run Like a Girl,” a 5k charity run/walk held at Chambers Creek Park in University Place. The event, which benefits YWCA domestic violence prevention programs, was a huge hit. Hundreds of people showed up to run, watch, and support this extremely important work.

Health is important to an increasing number of us, and thanks to increasing attention on the harms of conventional agriculture (to the earth, to us, and to everything in between) more and more Americans are looking for local, organic, sustainably produced foods.

I’m not talking about the age of the city itself. Jacksonville has been around since the end of the Tuscarora Wars in 1713 (if you believe Wiki). I’m talking about the cities with the lowest median age – the cities whose populations are the youngest.

According to The Fix, the best city in which to find such a support network is (surprise, surprise) Boston. (This is the same Boston that Travel + Leisure named America’s best town for drinking.) But the good people of Beantown take the dry life as seriously as the high life.
